Outlook Search Quirks

Hello,

Some customers of mine have great troubles with Outlook and search results consistency between standard search and advanced search. I made some tests, here are the results :

Outlook Search :

Search

• Only 250 results
• Search in cached and non-cached e-mails
• More efficient if you know the syntax

Outlook Advanced Search :

Advanced Search

• Search only in cached e-mails
• Allow more complexes filters

Each method has hos pros and cons, you need to use the one that fit your search needs.

Note : Those tests were realized with Outlook 2016 and an Office 365 mailbox, results may differ with different versions/mailbox type.
